A Change Development programme in partnership with the RD&E NHS Foundation Trust

The Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust (RD&E) provides integrated health and care services across Exeter and East and Mid Devon.

With approximately 8,000 staff, it manages a large teaching hospital, twelve community sites and provides acute and community services to a core population of over 450,000.

The RD&E has a long and proud history, dating back over 250 years. The Trust has earned an international reputation as a recognised provider of high-quality healthcare services, innovation, research and education.

Like many public sector organisations, the trust is undergoing extensive change. Following a number of conversations with the Trust’s Head of Talent Management & Resourcing, Crisp Professional Development were selected to provide a cost-effective solution to enable its own people to deliver an 'Understanding Change' programme internally.

The Trust put out an invite and based on responses received, it identified and selected a cohort of 12 ‘Change Ambassadors’.

Crisp partnered with the RD&E’s Talent, Learning & Resourcing team to co-create:

  • a one-day bespoke Understanding Change course which centred around the change projects due to take place within the Trust.

This was then followed up with:

  • a half day ‘Train the Trainer’ session which focused on how to deliver the content learned on the Understanding Change development.

The half day included a more in-depth discussion of the themes and topics covered in the course and advice on how best to deliver the Understanding Change material internally.
