An MBTI® (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator) is a highly regarded and widely trusted assessment tool that measures personality traits and indicates psychological preferences in how people perceive the world and make decisions.

MBTI® highlights the value of naturally occurring differences - we all have specific preferences in the way we think and interpret our experiences, and these preferences drive our actions, our interests, needs, values, and motivation.

It is a tool that provides a constructive, flexible and liberating framework for understanding individual differences and strengths, used for both individuals and teams, to build a robust foundation for life-long personal development.

Each individual completes an online questionnaire which forms the framework for their personality 'type' - there are 16 types in total.

There are two types of MBTI profiling;

Step 1:  identifies personality type, made up of the four areas below and provides a positive framework to explain how we interact with the world and each other.  It looks at;

  • Extraversion (E) - Introversion (I):  Where you prefer to get or focus your energy
  • Sensing (S) - Intuition (N): The kind of information you prefer to gather and trust
  • Thinking (T) - Feeling (F): The process you prefer to use in coming to decisions
  • Judging (J) - Perceiving (P): How you prefer to deal with the world around you

Step 2:  drills further into the detail of Step 1 preferences to reveal the unique individual behind each MBTI personality profile.  It reveals what makes them different to others of the same type and what makes them similar to those with a different MBTI type. The result is a highly personalised profile and development plan that is perfect for coaching, action planning and building cohesive teams.

Who is MBTI profiling for?

For individuals or teams who are looking to work on any of the following, MBTI profiling is an appropriate starting point;

  • Self awareness
  • Personal development
  • Management & leadership styles
  • Enhanced communication
  • Team effectiveness
  • Career progression (but not recruitment)

How does it work?

  1. The individual completes an online survey (there are no right or wrong answers) as MBTI is positively framed
  2. An MBTI report is generated ready for your confidential feedback/coaching session
  3. A feedback and coaching session with our qualified MBTI practitioner enables you to gain further insight into your preferences, how they support you and how you can utilise this for further growth and improvement.
  4. Your MBTI report and insights gained can then used to inform a series of follow up coaching sessions in a range of contexts to enable you to make positive changes.
